Ben Paparoulas - Queensland Representative

Ben is a technologies educational specialist who is currently the Principal Project Officer (Technologies) within the department, President of the Queensland Society for Information Technology in Education, and a research fellow at Griffith University. Ben has a Graduate Diploma in Education from Griffith University and a Bachelor of Information Technology from Central Queensland University. Since starting in ICT in 2005, Ben has worked across a range of industries including logistics, developing his ability to deliver innovative digital solutions to transform industry practices. Ben turned his hand to teaching in 2013 taking up positions across the public and private sector. His passion for technologies is now a passion for technologies education. He has contributed to strategic curriculum development and provided support to teachers and students through his various roles in the department. Inspiring the next generation of young Queenslanders to shape their destiny by becoming the creators of tomorrow is his focus, and is supporting teachers to achieve this by building their capability through sharing his wealth of industry knowledge and skills. Ben’s current research focuses on providing professional learning experiences for educators using technology to build teacher capability and improve their professional practice.
