Smart Teachers The State Government’s Smart Classrooms strategy connects school education with 21st century technologies to build the classroom of the future. Each year, the Smart Classrooms ICT Teacher Awards recognise state school teachers who excel in making ICT integral to learning. In this session, four award recipients will reveal their tips and secrets.

Kenmore State High School Deputy Principal Jennifer Skeahan has turned her school’s intranet and internet sites into communication hubs and has developed industry partnerships that have yielded ICT mentoring programs for students and professional development for teachers

William Ross State High School Senior SOSE and Film and Television Teacher Patricia Winter encourages her students to learn by using ICT to work in partnership with their local community.

Babinda State School Art and SOSE Teacher Gillian Raddatz uses ICT to make learning real and meaningful, which motivates her students to learn.

A leader in using multimedia for teaching and learning, Pullenvale State School Teacher and ICT Coordinator Sarah Cole and her students regularly use video-editing, web-publishing and animation software in the classroom.
