Developing a Culture of Digital Excellence

The core philosophy of Digital Excellence is to put the student at the heart of his/her own authentic learning and self-assessment. Using e-learning technologies to engage students in real-life projects developed to specific cohort needs, Glen Iris Primary Students have also been supported by a personalised learning program developed by Dr. John Ingram, that encompasses teacher-child partnership, learning dialogue and peer mentorship. Robyn Floyd, Assistant Principal-Curriculum Glen Iris Primary, will outline how a group of schools introduced this program coupling it with a teacher-need-designed 'PD-to-go Program', Parent PD, enabling all teachers to become comfortable facilitators of new technology. Innovative programs to engage students included: Thinking Tables in the Paperless Classroom and Animated/Auslan signed CDs: bilingual books for Deaf students. The DEA Program is currently used across the UK in Beacon schools, Education Action Zones and Clusters and is core to the
