ICT in Action

This hands-on workshop is for teachers who have not previously used speech recognition software. Participants will learn the basics of working with this software as well as advice on its use with students and how it can be used to improve personal productivity. Each attendee will receive a copy of Dragon Naturally Speaking software.
This hands-on session will focus on edna's collaborative tools. They allow Australian educators to establish communities of practice, collaborative spaces, and streams of communication. Participants will be introduced to me.edu.au, edna groups, edna Sandpit Groups, and edna Lists. edna's Single Sign On gives you access to all those utilities as well as the right to use the edna short URL service.
Participants will learn how easy and powerful the FISCHERTECHNIK robotic and control technology kits are to use. These affordable educational kits include robotic arms as well as autonomous, static and remote controlled robots. Using the versatile FISCHERTECHNIK ROBO PRO software you will build and program a light gate activated fan or program a robotic arm to pick and place objects or a robot to move around avoiding obstacles.
