When you think of the School of the Air, what comes to mind? Most people picture a child sitting with headphones on at an old fashioned radio in the outback. Well, this school is no longer.
This workshop is for educators who want to explore ways to facilitate global collaborative learning and project-based learning within their school, which enables students to create educational websites. The workshop will begin with an in depth look at Think.com and ThinkQuest; two innovative, educational web based learning experiences. It will also give practical examples of how the Think programs can be implemented and used in schools.
This presentation will focus on introducing participants to ThinkQuest and Think.com; two innovative, educational web based learning experiences that bring together students globally, through the use of ICT - Information Communications Technology.
In this session participants will find out more about planning high quality units and learning experiences that develop understanding of aspects of studies of Asia through the meaningful and purposeful use of ICT by students. The session will also describe how the use of ICT for planning and assessing can improve student learning outcomes. The session describes how ICTs can assist students to develop the understandings, knowledge and values described in the National Statement for Engaging Young Australians with Asia in Australian Schools.
